Jerry has spoken at several industry events and
universities.
Letter to Richard Dieguez re: Jerry's appearance at The
Circle October 23, 2007
Just wanted to say "great show." I thought the two programs --yours and
Jerry's-- were good complements to each other, both in tone and subject.
I very much appreciated that Jerry gave personal historical and
emotional depth to his program. This very much underscored your
repeated promotion of real face to face. I think this was as valuable
to the "baptised" as to the "unbaptised."

last night. The talk opened my eyes to many ways of advancing my musical carreer,
ways that I hadn't thought of before. Thanks, Sor

Comments on Music Business: From Foundation to Franchise presented by Jerry Lembo
at the IMC '06 Conference in Philadelphia:
"I was able to build with my peers and see they
had the same issues building a label, but also had great solutions." --Day
"Workshop was very informative and valuable.
Recommend this workshop for every person thinking of getting into the music
industry." --Nelson Scott
"It's really great to have a discussion format that
addresses your actual needs as opposed to having someone dictate to you!"

"Thank you so very much
for being a panelist at the WHAT MAKES A STAR? music business summer
institute for high school students at New York University...Your explanation of
business issues and how radio promotion and artist management operate gave the
group something they could not have gotten anywhere else. The quotes you
brought in were very thoughtful and gave us all a lot to consider. (And Squeeze
was one of the acts when I worked for A&M.) I've never set up a panel
before that included a performing artist (JLEG client Byron Zanos), ready and
willing to participate in the panel as a...performer! It was a perfect way
to keep us focused on what really matters: the artist and the music.
The overall goal of WHAT MAKES A STAR? is to show what goes into the
making of music, the discovery of music, the deal-making, and the changing (and
some not-so-changing!) business systems. Your contribution was of great
help in achieving that goal." --Catherine Moore, PhD, Director, Music
Business Graduate Program, Director, WHAT MAKES A STAR?

It was a pleasure meeting you last Saturday
at the NARIP workshop at Fordham University. I took many notes and will
implement them in my own business. --Lynn Aloia
"Your seminar was the best seminar I've been to in
years. Real information...no fluff... I hope we meet again!" -- A.K. Smith
Ford, Prohibition Entertainment
"I enjoyed your workshop and
benefited immensely from your insight and suggestions. I will definitely stay
in touch." --Lisette Lavergne, Esq.
"Very
impressive job today. I’m glad I came by. I’ll call you about guest speaking at
the NYU postgraduate class I teach in the fall. Lyor, Edgar, Donny have all
dropped by to speak. You’ll be on your way to an honorary degree!" --George
Stein
"Thanks much for the seminar
yesterday. It was worth waking early on a Saturday and going back to school. I
remember the Paradise Garage, Studio 54 and have worked with most of the dance
industry people you mentioned, as I represented Kraze (The Party) for some
years, among many other new wave, world music, jazz, rock....artists, including
a few superstars. My jobs are both very interesting challenges and I have carte
blanche... to create new programs and better partnerships that get more and
better European produced music heard, enjoyed and sold in North America. You
might know my partner in the co-management, Jean-Pierre Weiller, as he’s
representing Adam Cohen and Low Millions in France for Bill Leopold. It was nice
to learn about you and hear your spin on life and radio." --Robert Singerman,

"I just wanted to say that it was
really nice meeting you at GEMS, and it was an honor serving on the same panel.
You did such a great job moderating, by far the best panel I’ve been on and one
of the best I’ve ever seen as far as moderating goes. I highly recommended that
Steve use you as a moderator for future GEMS panels.
Hope to
cross paths again sometime." --

"Jerry is a true professional and an
extraordinary gentleman in the music business. I heard much about him over the
years and for one reason or another we never had the opportunity to meet.
However, I jumped at the chance to hear him speak at Richard Dieguez's Music
Industry Circle in NYC recently. Shortly thereafter, I set up a consultancy to
share my latest projects with him, in order to get 'a high level' perspective.
Within the first 20 minutes of my consultation, he was able to pinpoint and
elaborate on a dozen fantastic cross marketing ideas..."

"I wanted to
send a note of thanks to you for all of the insight that I gained from you while
at the Global Entertainment and Media Summit...I learned a great deal about the
industry through the information sessions and interacting with other artists and
panelists like you...Thank you for being so informative and approachable."

"Being an Independent Entrepreneur is not for the
faint-hearted. If you want to be free from the control of others;
self-contained, self-reliant, self-sufficient...an architect, creator,
originator...register for the Global Entertainment Network Conference. It's like
an oxygen tank for innovators. What's important to remember... rewards don't
always reflect in the bottom line but in the richness it brings to one's mind
(and soul)."
