"The Hollywood
Song" Lyrics
I’m gonna
drive my car
Take a trip I’m heading for L.A.
Gonna shine like a star
The sidewalk and the streets will bear my name
So change your hair
Change your face
We’ve got to win this human race
Cause in the end
All the world
Was not your stage
You were its girl
In Hollywood
You gotta do what they say
Cause they know how to take you to the top
But they all can’t agree
If your note sustains or if it stops
So lighten up and lose some weight
Cause after all they hold your fate
I hope that I have what it takes
To be the picture they create
Of Hollywood
I’m climbing the charts to number one
Are we having fun yet
So what do you think
Of what you see
Can you validate me
Can you validate me
When I’m old and out of touch
Will you keep me pick me up
Although it’s lonely at the top
Its much more lonesome when you drop
So change your hair
Change your face
We’ve got
to win this human race
Cause in
the end
All the world
Was not your stage
You were its girl
In Hollywood
I hope
there’s something more than Hollywood
There’s got to be much more than Hollywood
I hope
there’s something more than Hollywood
There’s
got to be much more than Hollywood
Bio
“Our album, 'The Cage', is a concept piece that revolves around a carnival
sideshow,” Kate Robins says, “but the people in it aren’t freaks of nature.
They’re normal people like you and me, but what’s being exploited is their
defense mechanisms against pain and loneliness.”
“We want our music to
hit people the same way any song does when they turn on the radio, where they
like the beat, they like the melody, it’s catchy, it’s memorable, but at the
same time, we want them to get the sense that we’re drawing from a deeper well,”
Neil Robins says. “That we’re pulling from musical backgrounds the average band
doesn’t pull from. That we’re writing from concepts people maybe haven’t put
into words but have felt all along. I’m really excited about the way the album
has turned out, because I think we’ve gone to a place that’s musically
different, yet at the same time we find the music resonating with all types of
people. As an artist, there’s not much that makes me happier than that.”
